Oldsmobile Aurora's Online Charity Drive Puts Consumers in the Driver's Seat

    DETROIT, April 26 Oldsmobile's 2001 Aurora will use the
power of the Web to raise awareness and funds for three, nationally recognized
charity organizations -- Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) and the
American Heart Association.
    For every person that visits http://www.2001aurora.com between May 1 and
June 1, 2000, Oldsmobile will make a 25 cent donation that will equally
benefit the Special Olympics, Make-A-Wish Foundation and the American Heart
Association.  Consumers have the opportunity to increase Oldsmobile's donation
up to $50.  For every consumer who registers online to take a test-drive,
Oldsmobile will contribute an additional $1.  For those who take their
registration form to their local Oldsmobile dealer and test-drive the Aurora,
they will boost Oldsmobile's donation to $50.
    "One of the main attributes of the 2001 Aurora is the vehicle's
responsiveness," said John Gatt, Aurora brand manager.  "This online
fundraising drive is an opportunity to provide responsiveness to consumers in
a different way.  We are also putting them in the driver's seat, by having
consumers determine how much the total donation will be."
    Once all of the donations are tallied, Oldsmobile will divide the total
amount of the funds raised equally among the three charities.
    "We are truly excited about this innovative promotion with Oldsmobile,"
said Paula Van Ness, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of
America.  "This is a fun and easy opportunity for consumers to help grant
wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses."
    The redesigned flagship 2001 Aurora will support a variety of offerings
from Oldsmobile including the sporty Alero coupe and sedan, the Intrigue
sports sedan, the Bravada sports utility vehicle and the Silhouette minivan.
